During the inauguration of Mr. Abdulkadir Zulkiflu as the Coordinator of the Satellite Towns Development Department (STDD) in Abuja on Tuesday, the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, cautioned him against engaging in negotiations with contractors. As the former Governor of Rivers State, Wike emphasized the importance of viewing the appointment as an opportunity to contribute to national development. He urged Zulkiflu to focus on effectively coordinating activities in the satellite towns rather than spending time negotiating with contractors from the office.
“It is your business to coordinate, liaise and brief me as the Minister of FCT, you are not sent there to sit in your office and begin to nevowith contract. If I find out, I will not hesitate to take necessary action,” he said.
The Minister emphasized that the FCT Administration is committed to ensuring that all satellite towns benefit from government initiatives. He encouraged the coordinator to seize the opportunity to deliver tangible results and creat a significant impact, highlighting the various ongoing projects in the satellite towns. This, he stressed, would ensure that residents of the areas experience the positive effects of President Bola Tinubu’s ‘Renewed Hope’ agenda .
