Yahaya Bello, the former Governor of Kogi State, was notably absent from the Federal High Court in Abuja on Thursday, where he was scheduled to be arraigned by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) for an alleged money laundering offense amounting to N84 billion.
The counsel representing the EFCC, Kemi Phinro, informed the court earlier that Bello’s absence was due to the protection Provided by someone with immunity.
Consequently, Justice Emeka Nwite adjourned the suit to April 23rd, allowing for further proceedings in the case .
