Jigawa State Governor Malam Umar Namadi has suspended Auwalu Sankara, the Commissioner for Special Duties, pending an investigation into allegations from the Kano State Hisbah.
Sankara was arrested by the Kano State Hisbah Board in an incomplete d building with a married woman. Dr. Abba Sufi, the board’s Director General, confirmed the arrest on Friday evening.
In a stemmed issued later that night, Sankara denied the allegations, calling them false, baseless, and malicious, and asserting that they aimed to damage his reputation.
However, in a statement on Saturday, Malam Bala Ibrahim, Secretary to the Government of Jigawa State, emphasized that the suspension was necessary to facilitate a thorough investigation, ensuring transparency and preserving the integrity of the state administration.
