Three individuals have been apprehended by the Kwara State Police Command for their suspected involvement in a homicide case in Ilorin. aThe victim, identified as Mr. Musibawa Aliu, the Chairman of tricycle Owners and Riders Association of Nigeria (NOAN), was reported missing before his dismembered body was discovered in an unfinish building. Additionally, the Enugu State Police Command successfully rescued a security guard who had been kidnapped along with a director from the University of Nigeria Teaching Hospital. The suspects arrested in Ilorin are, Ibrahim Abdullahi, Ismaila Ajirerin, and Adeola Adeosun, all residents of the state capital.
Yesterday in Ilorin, a statement was released and signed by DSP Ejire Adeyemi Toun, the Public Relations Officer (PPRO) of the police command, according to the document:
“The case was reported on March 10, 2024, at about 10:00hrs. Mr Olarenwaju Saliman of Alore area, Ilorin, reported a disturbing incident involving his brother Mr Musibau Aliu at “G” Division, Oleje area of Ilorin metropolis.
“According to Mr. Saliman, his brother left home on March 8th, 2024, at around 17:00hrs, with his tricycle for commercial purposes and has since not returned home. Despite exhaustive efforts to trace him, including repeated calls to his phone number which were unanswered, Mr Aliu remained missing.”
The statement added:
“On March 10, 2024, at about 13:30hrs, the command received information regarding the discovery of a headless corpse in an uncompleted building along Okolowo Expressway, by Daru-Salam Area. Upon arrival at the scene, a decomposing male corpse was found with its head, part of the buttocks, and both wrists severed.
“It was later confirmed by Mr. Saliman that the deceased was indeed his missing brother, Mr. Musibau Aliu. The deceased was identified as the Chairman of the Tricycle Owners and Riders Association of Nigeria (TOAN), Idiose Alore.”
Ejire emphasized that the state police command that the state police command extends its sympathy to the family of Mr. Musibau Aliu and vows to relentlessly pursue those responsible for the heinous crime. In a separate incident, the police have successfully rescued the security guard who was abducted with a director from the University of Nigeria Teaching Hospital (UNTH) in Ituku Ozalla, Enugu State.
