Nnamdi Kanu Asserts Ability to End Insecurity in South East Upon Release

Nnamdi Kanu. the embattled leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), has made a bold claim that he can swiftly resolve the insecurity in the South East within two minutes if he is released from detention. Asserting his authority, Kanu stated that no one in the region can challenge his directives regarding security matters. The passionate Biafra advocate expressed his sentiments during a press briefing held within the premises of the Abuja Federal High Court on Tuesday.

“I suspect that some people in government are making money out of insecurity in the South East; they know that once Nnamdi Kanu is outside, in two minutes this nonsense will stop. Who’s the idiot that can alter my orders in the South East? Nobody can. I Nnamdi, let me come out of this nonsense, and in two minutes, there will be peace in the South East.” he said.

Previously, Justice Binta Nyako rejected Kanu’s bail application but mandate an expedited trial for the case, which revolves around charges of terrorism and treasonable felony against him. Kanu, detained by the Department of State Services (DSS) since June 2021, appeared in court on Tuesday. Justice Nyako emphasized the court’s commitment to a swift trail, instructing the prosecution to present its initial witness.
