Renowned Nollywood Legend, Amaechi Muonagor, Passes Away at the Age of 61


Amaechi Muonagor, a beloved figure in the Nigerian film industry, passed away at the age of 61, leaving behind a legacy that will be cherished by fans for years to come. The renowned Nollywood actor breathed his last on March 24, succumbing to a long battle with kidney-related issues, diabetes, and aftermath of a debilitating stroke.

His health struggles became apparent in 2023 when he suffered a stroke, which resulted in partial paralysis of his left leg. Despite facing immense physical challenge, Muonagor remained resilient, undergoing weekly dialysis sessions and rigorous physiotherapy to alleviate the effects of the stroke-induced paralysis.

Tragically, his quest for survival was cut short as he made a heartfelt plea for financial assistance on social media, desperately seeking support to fund a kidney transplant. However, fate had other plans, and Muonagors’ demise occurred mere days after his plea. leaving many mourning the loss of a talented actor and a kind-hearted individual.

Throughput his illustrious career, Muonagor graced the screens of countless Nigerian movies, captivating audiences with his remarkable performances. One of his most memorable roles was in the popular film ‘Aki and Paw Paw,’ where he portrayed the endearing father figure to two mischievous young boys.
