Nyesom Wike, the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, announced that President Bola Tinubu has approved a 9-day period, dubbed FCT Week, for the inauguration of completed projects in the FCT. Wine revealed this on Friday during the final inspection of some ongoing projects set for commissioning. He stated that FCT Week will begin on May 27 wi th inauguration of commercial operations for the Abuja Rail Mass Transit .
Other projects set for inauguration by the President during FCT Week, as inspected by the FCT Minister, include the official rest of the Vice President, the Outer Souther Expressway (OSEX) from the Villa Roundabout to Ring Road 1 with four interchanges, as well as the B6 and B12 Circke Road.
Wike expressed satisfaction with the progress and completion of these projects, commending the contractors for adhering to the schedule. He added that the FCt Administration has fulfilled its commitment by providing adequate funding, ensuring that the FCT is ready to commission theses projects.
”By the approval of Mr. President, we believe that from the 27th of this month, we shall start the inauguration of the various projects. Particularly on the 27th, we believe the President will flag off the commercial operation of the Abuja Metro line. We believe on Monday, we will do the final inspection of that. From what we have seen, I think we are good to go,” Wike said.
