In a statement posted on his official social media handle today, March 24, 2024, SP Benjamin Hundeyin provided further details regarding the incident. According to Hundeyin, the tragic event occurred as the woman, accompanied by her three children, was engaged in vending groundnuts along the roadside. It was during this activity that they were unexpectedly struck by the driver, who reportedly lost control of the vehicle. “A mother and her three children were selling groundnuts by the roadside. A 22-year-old driver lost control of his Mercedes Benz car and ran into mother and children. While the children are responding to treatment, the mother sadly passed on. Think safety!”
