Easter: Federal Government Declares Friday and Monday Public Holiday

The Federal Government, through Minister of Interior Dr. Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, has announced public holidays on Friday, March 29 and Monday, April 1, 2024, to commemorate Good Friday and Easter Monday. Encouraging all Nigerians to reflect on the selflessness of Jesus Christ, the Minister emphasized Easter’s message of love, forgiveness, and compassion, highlighting their importance for societal unity and progress. He urged Christians to embody these values, which can positively impact Nigeria’s socio-economic development by fostering unity and cooperation. Additionally, he called for acts of charity and generosity to support the less privileged in society.

He stated that this aligns with President Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda. Tunji-Ojo extented Easter wishes to Christians worldwide and urged Nigerians to collaborate with the administration led by President Tinubu to achieve sustainable development and prosperity for all.
