The Nasarawa State Police Command reported the neutralisation of a suspected armed robber, Ifeanyichukwu Ilegalu, in the Mararaba area of Karu Local Government during a robbery. DSP Ramhan Nansel, the Police Public Relations Officer, announced the arrest of Edache Joseph, a member of the robbery gang. The operation was part of efforts to enhance community policing in the Maraba area, initiated by CP Umar Shehu Nadada. Acting on information about a gang of eight armed robbers attacking residents of Aso Pada, Maraba, police operatives, vigilantes, and community members pursued the criminals, resulting in the death of one suspect and the apprehension of another.
“The suspect has made a useful statement, and he is assisting the Police in the investigation. The Commissioner of Police has commended the efforts of the police operatives, vigilantes group, and members of the community for their display of bravery and assured them of his continuos support. He tasked other members of the public to cooperate with the police in order to rid the state of criminal.”
