Adamawa Police Apprehend Four Alleged Armed Rpbbers, Retrieve Stolen Tricycle

The Adamawa State Command’s operatives have apprehended four individuals suspected of armed robbery and have successfully recovered a stolen tricycle. SP Suleiman Yahaya Nguroje, the command’s spokesperson, disclosed this information in a statement on Sunday, April 7, 2024. The suspects, identified as Abdullahi Yusuf (220, Umar Yahaya (20), Hassan Ishaka (24), and Shuaibu Abubakar (19), are all residents of Kwabura village, Hawal L.G.A, Borno State. According to the Public Relations Officer (PPRO), the suspects assaulted a commercial tricyclist along the Jimeta-Mubi Bridge, forcibly removed him from the vehicle, and absconded with it.

“On April 7th, 2024, at about 0600hrs, Nuhu Muhammed, a tricyclist, raised the alarm along Jimeta-Mubi Bridge after being attacked and robbed of his tricycle. Investigations so far revealed that the suspects posed as passenger and boarded the tricycle to a certain location, around Vinikang, Girei Local Government Area. Upon reaching the bridge, the suspects applied force on the tricyclist, threatening him with dangerous weapons, pushed him out of the tricycle and went away with it. Aswift response from the Jimeta Division patrol team led to the apprehension of the suspects and the recovery of the tricycle,” the statement read.

“The commissioner of Police CP Dankombo Morris, Psc (+), assured that the suspects will be charged to court for Criminal Conspiracy and Armed Robbery upon the conclusion of the investigation.”
