Group Asserts PDP’s Lack of Moral Authority to Advise Tinubu on Governance

A group known as The Democratic Front (TDP) has asserted that the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) lacks the moral authority to offer governance advise to President Bola Tinubu or claim to possess a solution to rescue the nation’s economy, considering its 16-year tenure.

In a statement co-signed by its Chairman , Danjuma Mohammed, and Secretary, Wale Adedayo, the group responded to the communique issued by the PDP at the conclusion of its National Executive Committee (NEC) meeting. It contended that the country is still grappling with the repercussions of what it described as the reckless mismanagement of the economy during the PDP era.

”Imagine a political party that failed woefully and landed the country in its present parlous economic state now pontificating on efforts to revitalize the national economy as if they ever had any clue.”

”Rather than bury their heads in shame because of the roles the former ruling party played in bringing the country to its knees, they are busy pontificating on the bold initiatives and reforms being initiated by President Bola Tinubu,” the group said.

The group highlighted that if the party’s NEC had focused solely on its ambitious yet impractical endeavors to reconcile the crumbling structures of the deeply fractured political entity that the PDP has become, the resulting communique would have garnered more meaningful attention.

It emphasized the absurdity of the NEC meme Ed’ Vega Iy and their apparent insensitivity to the dire consequences of their party’s 16 years of mismanagement, underscoring the progress and development of the Nigerian state.

The group expressed the belief that a political party responsible for squandering Nigeria’s hard-earned resources and recklessly depleting its national assets over such an extended period should demonstrate remorse and accountability, particularly in matters concerning economic recovery and governance.

It added: “This litany of PDP’s failure and unprecedented maladministration will remain evergreen in our collective memory as a people.”

“So it is egregiously ridiculous that PDP NEC members will cast aspersions on President Bola Tinubu’s highly performing economic team and ask him to reverse his impressively successful economic policies.
