Federal High Court in Lagos sentenced Bobrisky to six months in jail without fine option. Justice Abimbola Awogboro of the Federal High Court in Lagos delivered the verdict on Friday morning, April 12. The court dismissed money laundering charges against Bobrisky but convicted him for Naira Abuse following his confession. He was remanded in EFCC detention in Lagos. The judgement was postponed to April 9 due to the Eid-Fitri public holiday.
During his court appearance, Bobrisky identified as male when asked about his gender. The presiding judge, in delivering the verdict, stated that sentencing Bobrisky to prison for Naira abuse would discourage others from similar actions. As a result, Bobrisky was sentenced to serve his jail term at the Ikoyi Correctionnal Center.
