Tinubu Appoints New Director-General for NEMA

President Bola Tinubu has sanctioned the selection of Mrs. Zubaida Umar to assume the role of Director-General at the National Emergency Management Agency, succeding Mustapha Ahmed, who was appointed by former President Muhammadu Buhari in May 2021.

“Her appointment further underlines the President’s vowed commitment to gender inclusion,” the Presidency said in a statement signed by Tinubu’s Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Ajuri Ngelale.

The staement is titled; ‘President Tinubu appoints new NEMA Director-General.’

With more than two decades of professional experience spanning Human Resources, Finance, and Administration, Umar is a distinguished member of the Chartered Institute of Bankers and Institute of Credit Administration. Her qualifications include ACCA certifications in Public Financial Management and Digital & Sustainability Financing.

During her Tenure as Executive Director of Finance and Corporate Services at the Federal Mortgage Bank, Umar is Credited with spearheading the modernization and digitization efforts that propelled the institution to become a leading provider of mortgage and financial services.
